THE SCRIPPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE

Nearly 300 spellers from both the United States and other countries (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Department of Defense Schools in Europe; also, the Bahamas, Canada, China, Ghana, Jamaica, New Zealand, and South Korea) gather in Washington DC at the start of June 2011 (date to be confirmed) to take part in Bee Week.

This week-long event includes a two day spelling bee that culminates in the Final round aired live on Prime Time TV. There are also a number of social activities including sight seeing, games, and a banquet dinner and dance for the spellers and their parents.

All the spellers receive a range of Bee Week materials and gifts including Bee Week T-shirts and a gold Commemorative Spelling Bee watch to ensure they never forget this once in a life time experience.
